HEXOstudios 1.1 is now on the Mac App Store. Here is what is new in this version.
01Smarter memory for big models
Heavy models get memory sized to your Mac instead of a fixed limit. The file you open comes first, most formats lose the old 500 MB preview limit, and Full Preview reuses the model already loaded.
02A stronger STEP engine
More STEP files now draw, including extrusions, cone tips and sphere poles. Large files load once, show progress and rotate smoothly.
03New 3D formats
Preview GLB, glTF and FBX files, and Rhino .3dm files from Rhino 5 to 8 using the display meshes saved in the file, with File Passport details.
04FreeCAD in real 3D
FreeCAD files show the model itself, drawn from its exact geometry, instead of the picture saved in the file.
05G-code toolpaths in 3D
Explore the whole toolpath in 3D with a layer controller and print details. Cards show color-coded toolpaths drawn by HEXO.
06Truer colors
PLY vertex and face colors, AMF colors, USDZ materials, and OBJ colors and textures from their .mtl files.
07Built for huge libraries
Smart Search understands format names and searches the folder you’re in, format counts filter in one click, and sorting is much faster.
08Five languages
English, Français, Español, Türkçe and 简体中文. Choose yours in Settings > General.
