Adding files and folders to your library

Drag files or whole folders straight into All Files, or use Import. Your files stay where they are.

Drag and drop

Drag 3D files or whole folders from Finder straight into your library while All Files is showing. There is no need to open Import first.

Adding files works in All Files, with no search or format filter active. Anywhere else, HEXOstudios asks you to switch to All Files.

The Import button

Click Import at the top of the library and choose Import Files… for individual 3D files, or Import Folder… for a whole folder. Command-I opens Import Files directly.

Folders on Free and Pro

On Free, a folder that holds only files comes in as one new folder in your library. A folder with subfolders inside needs Pro.

With Pro, the folder tree becomes your library’s folders, up to three levels deep. Files from deeper folders go into their folder at the third level.

Files already in your library

If some of the files are already in your library, HEXOstudios asks whether to import only the new ones or keep both.

Files it does not open

Files in formats HEXOstudios does not open are left out. If nothing you dropped can be added, HEXOstudios says so.

Your files stay where they are

Adding a file puts it in your library without moving it: the file stays in its folder or on its drive.
